i've been using tmpgenc + and tsunami dvd author to convert all my avi to dvd
my only gripe is it does not have the capability to import subtitle and allow me to turn on/off the subtitle
is there any good dvd author software that will allow me to turn on/off a subtitle
wondering about dvdremake, can i just substitute my movie and subtitle to the existing movie and subtitle

ConvertXtoDVD imports subtitles and allows you to set one on by default if you wish. Prefers subs in SRT format.
If you want an authoring tool that supports subs, then DLP or DVD Workshop 2 are possible candidates. More complex than tmpgenc DVD author though.Read my blog here.

PGCEdit allows you to set them to be turned on or off after authoring:
