I would like to put more than 1 movie on a 4.3Gb dvd to play in my Sony DVD Player.
First I used Dvxtodvd to convert 1 mpg file of 645mb, and the audio was converted from mpeg-1 to Ac3. Now I doubt the Ac3 audio will play in my dvd player, so it means having another type of audio. Is there any way I can get dvxtodvd to convert the audio to other than Ac3?, and if not then I'll have to use TMPEnc, which will make the movie bigger.

Even so, I reckon I could get 2 movies on 1 dvd, space wise; so how can this be done?
    Thanks

All dvd players supports ac3 (dolby digital).

You can add 2 or more video files in divxtodvd, hold in the ctrl-button when adding files to select several. Or upgrade to latest convertxtodvd (not free though).

Thanks for quick reply. mmm, I didn't know that all players support AC3, because I usually extract any AC3 audio and convert to wav before I burn to dvd, but thanks anyway for that.

So if I select more than 1 file using convertxtdvd and convert them, how will they come out, I mean can I just burn them straight onto dvd?
    Thanks

ConvertXtoDVD will create seperate titles for each one. If you elect to have a menu created, each will appear on the menu.

However, more than 2 hours on a disc at full D1 is asking for substantially reduced quality, and ConvertXtoDVD doesn't do half-D1 (yet - here's hoping), so while you might get acceptable results for two 90 minute movies (by acceptable I mean a soft image with some blocking), you won't get much more on with seeing major degradation.

Simply put, one movie per disc is always the best result. Two requires more finessing than ConvertXtoDVD will allow, and any more than that is just foolish, and you are on your own. Discs are cheap. If you must put multiple movies on a single disc, you are better off getting a Divx capable player. The quality will be better in most cases than if you convert them to DVD.
