I've got a Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR EH-55 (I live in Australia). I got a very annoying problem when trying to copy things from Hard Disk to a DVD using high speed. When I played the DVD, I couldn't search for a particular time (play the dvd from point 3:15 for example) using a different brand dvd player. I tried playing back using the Panasonic dvd recorder and the time slip function (similar like search function in the other play) didn't work either. I tried DVD+R, DVD+RW and they got the same problem. I DID finalized the disc before playing back.
I tried playing the discs in Windows using WinDVD and Microsoft Windows Player and both got the same problem - they didn't allow me to jump to a particular time at all. I tried the normal DVDs (the music DVD, the DVD that I recorded using Nero), none of them had the problem.
However, if I recorded the show directly to a DVD, I could use time slip function (in Panasonic dvd recorder) or time search function in other dvd player without any problem.
Does anyone experience with this problem. Can anyone suggest me anything? Thank you in advance.
