I have an Xvid movie which I want to convert to DVD. I've used various programs i.e. dvdSanta, ConvertXtoDVD, TMPGEnc to output my xvid to DVD 16:9 widescreen and when I play them back on my PC it looks ok with black borders top and bottom. The problem is that when I play the DVD on my Sony DVD player it stretches the DVD to fullscreen on my widescreen TV. I have no problems playing other DVDs on my DVD player/ widescreen TV setup so it's not an issue with playback settings. Any help would be appreciated.

GSpot Info for the Xvid Movie:
    Size: 640 x 352
    FAR: 1.818 (20:11)
    PAR: 1.000
    DAR: 1.818 (20:11)
    Frames/ sec: 29.971
    Audio: AC3

after converting use ifoedit on all the ifos and change the properties to 16x9.

run ifoedit/open each ifo/in the bottom section of the screen double click on anything that says (4:3)/in the selection box that opens up change them all to 16x9 and de-select automatic pan&scan if it is checked/click save and overwrite all old ifos and bups.
