Hey guys, I'm pretty new to this and am having a bit of a problem. I'm using Cyberlink PowerDirector 5 to capture some video from my camcorder. It captures OK and everything works fine, except for some reason it stops capturing at around 7 minute intervals. I don't know why though. It captures 7 minutes worth then stops and asks me to name the file, it then captures 8 minutes....

I have plenty of disk space and have not set any time or size limits. I'm capturing to MPEG-2 format.

Any ideas why it does this?

Have you set the time to capture somewhere? I am using PD 5 just now on VHS-tapes with success to capture .avi and there is in the project-settings and/or somewhere on the interface a function to set the recording-time.

Some apps change it to an interval resulting from you first capture after starting the programme, e.g. you decide to capture, click the record-button, change your mind (perhabs to change the settings again), then in a small time-counter-pane the respective time (min. or even sec.) is 'remembered'. You would have to set that back to 00:00 and recording would then go on till you stop it manually.

Happened to me in Ulead DVD Workshop and NeoDVD. 8)
