    Rejoice or feel the dread!

The cartoon is ok but I don't really watch it. I can't believe its been around for 18 years! Wow what a legacy.....

  2. They would not still be making it if the demand was not there. One of my favourite shows.

    sounds good to me
I love the Simpsons and I have every season that's been released on DVD.
the local Fox shows it 4 times a day(!)
my former roommate's ex used to work at the local Fox and she really had nothing to do all nite, so I gave her a shitload of blank VHS and she copied every syndicated ep they had (in order!) for me (this was a few years before DVD became popular)
I watched those tapes so much that they wore out

Yeah there are a lot of people that think the Simpsons are getting old. I can kinda see maybe they don't like it because the characters never grow older or different at all but I don't see this is a problem. I'm still a big fan and I love it how it seems to be a Hollywood calling card, you're not anybody until you've had a guest spot on the Simpsons. I think the longer it stays on the air the more cameos and guest appearances we'll see. And they should invite back some of their old writers to write the occasional episode, or have guest directors write some in parody. Like have Zach Braff or maybe even Seth MacFarlane write one. I think Ricky Gervaise helped write the episode he was in and for those who liked him before it was hilarious. Or friggin Borat needs to show up!

I catch an old episode on syndication once in a while and I'm amazed to see it still makes me laugh.

Good Gawd! If there was ever a show that has been beaten like a dead horse, that NEEDED to END...it is the Simpsons!

    Holy shit. 18 yrs?

This kinda reminds me of that family guy episode where Death/grim reaper was side-lined and unable to do his job, so people stopped dieing. Only instead of people in this case...its oldass tv shows that won't end instead.

Maybe if they actually, i dunno, gave the damn show a facelift from the usual stagnant old crap its been for the past 18 years.

Like say skip a few years ahead, have bart be a 19 yr old teenager instead of the same little brat, have the family move into a new house, develop new supporting-side cast characters, new dog, whatever, etc.

As it is now its like they're stuck in a time loop from 1989, endlessly repeating itself.

This show needs to end. Quite sad that Futurama, a show that just kept getting better, was cancelled (but thaks to DVD and [adult swim] is now coming back) and this garbage is still on.

  11. Like I said, if it did not get the viewing figures it would be cancelled.

I personally stopped watching it regularly several years ago, but whenever I do catch an episode I still find it funny. I've got no problem with it continuing.

Not as good as the days of old but I wouldnt have a problem with season 25. What? Am I going to watch American Idol, Desparate HW and MTV reality shows? Even the worst Simpsons episodes are better than that.
