I need some searious help on decide wich Capture Card to pick up, Also what would be the best RCA Jacks to get as well, My VCR Sadly will not take S-Video, Anyways, I'm working on captureing Highest Quality VOB Files (Resolution: 720x480 At Least, Progressive Scan, Bitrate At: 8000kbps Video, Encoding High Quality 2-Pass VBR Mode) And I'm going to be Re-Mastering the audio quality on theese videos to Dolby Digital from a very high end CD Import source. I need some help finding a cheap but GOOD capture card, One wich will at least match what I stated above (Resolution, Bitrate and all) I have a new Sony SLV-676UC Hi-Fi Editing VCR With Remote and the quality is beyond perfect. And I have a Sony 16x DVD RW DW-Q120A DVD Burner, Wich is VERY Good! I'm all set with the VCR And Burner And Audio, I just need someone to help me find the best RCA Jacks I can, I saw some 24 Karat Gold jacks at the store for $12 Are those the best for what i'm doing or are there better? I Also need someone to point me to a good capture card at a good price (After the VCR And the DVD Burner Now i'm on a tight budget) And I am going to need a Capture Card that is compatable with NeroVision Express, That is my favorite Video Capture program. My old Dazzle DVC USB needs to be trashed! It just dosen't stand up to the quality I want by far. Can someone please help me out with finding A Capture Card and the best RCA Jacks there are?
Please help me, I would seariously appriciate it!
    Thank you,
    -Ryan

Wire is pretty much wire. Any non-Dollar store cable should perform about as good as any other. Some, unfortunately are hideously over priced (see: Monster Cables) in hopes that if the consumer pays more they will perceive a difference. Personally I'd look at getting a DVD Recorder. More bang (quality) for the buck and a lot more convenient than a Capture Card, in any price range.

Better cables are indeed important. In fact, the best thing you can do to get better sound out of a pair of speakers is to replace the little thin double wires that come with many speakers with good cables like Monster cables. This will greatly improve the sound of the speakers.

Cable wire has changed many times over the years to help get rid of outside interference, and within the cable interference. Well designed and shielded cables will inprove your system. However, you should first improve the most important parts of the system as well as the cables. The cables will only transmit the quality of the signal it receives.

The gold on the jacks eliminates the oxide buildup that is normal built up on non-gold plated jacks. However, if you keep the jacks on all the time, this should not be an issue.

I tend to purchase very good cables, since it would be a waste of time and money to have good equipment connected by 3rd rate cables which come with the equipment. Remember, the electronics companies are not in the cable business, they only include them to prevent the consumer from griping they are not included. They give you the cheapest crap cables they can find. I just wish I could replace some of the crap parts they include inside their electronic devices with quality parts. That would improve the images/sound and eliminate a lot of quality issues. Quality has been replaced by cheap. It is cheaper to have the consumer exchange the product, than to increase quality. Why do you think most electronic items only have a 90 day or 1 yr warn?
Some days it seems as if all I'm doing is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic

Thanks for the help, I do agree about the RCA Jacks, So do you think just the Gold Plated would work the best? I've had some problems in the past with recording with crappy cords and good equiptment. Can someone please point me to a cheap but good capture card that would capture to my requirements from NeroVision?
Thanks so much for all the help!
