Problem .... when burning 8x dvds (ritek go5) with imgburn 2.0 they only burn at 4x ... however if i use test mode it will burn (test burn not actually burn the disc) at 8x ... using the same disc with record now max burning is at 8x ... i also get 8x when burning with tda ... in imgburn the info panel displays burn speeds as 4x 6x 8x but they only burn at 4x regardless of the speed selected (i've tried selecting 6x 8x and max).

How can it show 8x in test mode yet only burn at 4x in real burning mode? ... and does anyone else have this problem or know if there is a fix ( i've tried using win xp spti and adaptec aspi with the same results)

note: settings are correct i.e dma etc

  2. I think this may have been reported before (sorry I don't use IMGBurn). Take a look here:

    http://forum.imgburn.com/

Then turn on I/O debug mode (press f8 key) and then save log. You'll probably need that to post at their forum. Good luck.

  3. In test mode, the drive isn't burning to the disc so burn quality isn't an issue.

When not in test mode the drive will slow the burn down if it determines the quality isn't as good as it could/should be.

There's nothing I can do about that, that's just what WOPC does.

If your buffers are full, the program is sending data to the drive as quickly as the drive is letting it. Internally, the program always works at full speed - regardless of your 'Write Speed' settings. The drive determines how quickly the data is actually written to the disc.
