I'm looking to extract the 5.1 channel AC-3 stream from an XVid avi file. Most of the tools I've seen that can extract from avi's will only let you convert to a wav (GoldWave, VirtualDub), but I don't want a wav - nor do I want to convert it. I just want to demux the audio from the video. Any tools? guides? existing threads?
Thanks!

Open the avi in virtualdubmod. Go Streams->Stream List, click on the audio track, then on the Demux button. Doesn't get much easier than that.
