Hey guys, I've been trying to convert avi and mpg files to VIDEO_TS for burning with Toast 7 for some time now. I had no problems for about one week and then the audio on all my conversions was out of sync. Recently something weird happened in that the video would speed up to stay in sync with the audio. Now the app randomly quits no matter what process I do e.g. author, join, convert. If you have any suggestions, that would be great! Thanx.

I have resolved the issue by uninstalling and reinstalling the program.
I followed major's advice - https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=252946 - by deleting the ffmpegx application icon in my applications folder, as well as the folder /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX.
When re-installing, use Firefox or some other program other than Safari to download the mpeg2enc binary, as Safari downloads it as a text file. Even removing the .txt extension did not work for me, as suggested by others. This resolved the annoying "ffmpegx always asks me to download the missing components upon launch" problem as well as the "ffmpegx will not copy the binary because it is the same size" problem.
After having multiple failures and difficulties, I'm up and running again with no problems.
I can't stress this enough: DON'T USE SAFARI TO DOWNLOAD THE MPEG2ENC BINARY!
