    hi all

    i downloaded some video clips and the frame rate of the vids are 24fps. is there anyway i can convert them to 25fps PAL as i want to put them onto dvd. i have tried converting them with canopous pro coder and the result comes out choppy. whats the best way i can convert these clips into PAL.     There are 2 good ways to do it, and some lousy ways. One of the good ways is to speed up both the audio and video to 25fps length, and resize for PAL. AviSynth is the way to go for the video, by adding:

    AssumeFPS(25)

    to the script.

    The other good way is to keep it at 24fps, meaning the audio doesn't have to be stretched, and to run the resulting 24fps 720x576 video through DGPulldown set for 24->25fps. AviSynth should also be used for the frameserving. I have no idea how to do this in Procoder. It's a piece of cake in other encoders.

    thanks for the info mate. i also have virtualdub and tmpgenc. would they be better then procoder?

  4. Well, you can use VDub for the frameserving, I guess (but not the encoding), but as I use AviSynth, I wouldn't know how. I don't use TMPGEnc either. Plenty of people here do, though, and I'm sure someone will come along. If you search, you may find a guide that will help you do the conversion.
