When I burn a disk using my dvd burner it leaves a tiny scratch in one portion of the disk. It's a pretty unique looking scratch (kind of like an odd shapped v), and it appears on every single disk I use in the same place. The burner is pretty new and well taken care of, what is causing this scratch on every disk? How can I fix it? Thanks

  2. You didn't mention on which side of the disc the scratch appears.

That would be on the writing side. Looking a little closer it seems like 3 little scratches going from the outside of the disk to the inside, not in a circular pattern.

  4. I would get another drive and see about getting your money back on the defective one then.

Being that the only thing that should stick up high enough to make scratches on the disc is the laser lens, if that's what's causing it, the burner will not work much longer anyway before the lens is damaged. That's not a slot fed burner is it? I don't know of anything else that should or could touch the disc surface.
