psp movie editing

I can convert movies to my PSP and i can also convert .flv files to my PSP. i think they are MP4 files that are stored on the PSP card. BUT i want to edit either the .flv file or the converted psp file. i have TOTAL VIDEO CONVERTER but if i use the edit function on it to convert a segment of the .flv file, it doesnt work. SO my question is...........is there a .flv file editor or a PSP file editor available to do this

Not aware of anything specifically for PSP's. But an mp4 is an mp4 and there are mp4 editors. Much better to edit before encoding though. You could for instance use AVISynth with directshowsource() to load the flv, edit and then encode to mp4.

am i correct in thinking that the PSP video files are just MP4 files.

Yes. I believe originally they require some custom atoms, but now (due to an PSP update) they are stock standard mp4's.

can u suggest an easy to use MP4 editor that will just do the basic functions. sorry to be a newbie

dont suppose you know what settings to use do you, its exaclty what im looking for but just cant seem to get it setup right to output a valid PSP video file!
