I have used Pinnacle Studio for many years. I bought a copy
of Sony Vegas Movie Studio last year and have not installed it
until recently. I like to give Vegas a try, because it is rated
much better than Pinnacle. The first problem I have for Vegas
is to change transition length. It seems that Vegas Movie Studio
has a fixed the transition length for 6 or 7 frames. It is a little
too fast to see the transition for me. I like to change it to 10
to 14 frames for each transition. Although there are several
ways to customerize each transition. I cannot find a way to
change transition length. Does anyone know if it is possible to
change transition length in Vegas Movie Studio? I googled the
problem and tried changing overlay based on one answer. But
it was not working. Thanks.

not sure you mean - the transition lenth is the same as the amount of one clip overlaping the next ... just have more overlap (same track) before droping the trans. on the overlaped area
