Hey Guys,
Anyone know how to change the "Always take this action" setting once you have set it? I had a program set up to start every time I connected my DV Camera, but now I want to disable that feature as I no longer use that software. It's very annoying for me coz I have to wait for it to fire up every time I connect only to then close it down straight away.
Have looked everywhere through my Windows settings but can't seem to find the option I need. Any help appreciated... Thanks all.

Richt-click on the camera when it's connected and go to Properties. The AutoPlay tab will let you change the option.

Another quick and dirty option would be to uninstall the application you autostart.

Thanks for the tip, but there is no AutoPlay tab in the properties menu when I right click on the camera.
I would like to learn how to fix this without uninstalling the offending program. Anyone got any other ideas?
Thanks... -

There's a whole bunch of stuff in the registry that tells the OS what to do. Knowing the app's filename will help track down the right entries to change/delete etc.
In the meantime, you can:
1. Disable all Autoplay behaviour by stopping the "Shell Hardware Detection" service. You need to go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services, click on the "Shell Hardware Detection" in the list then click the Stop button at the top of the Services dialog.
2. According to Microsoft, start the application you want to use, then connect the camera. If things behave as they should, the OS will realise you are using a different handler app and not start the offending one. Emphasis on "should"!

There's more than likely a way to disable the offending program within the app itself.
