  1. Hello,

i have some strange problem burning a DVD+R DL medium. I usually need to use a DL medium not very often. Probably i burned the last medium more than half a year ago. Burning was with Suse 10.0 and the LG was equipped with A104 firmware. Media was a no name brand. Everything fine at this time.

No i had to burn a DVD+R DL again (same no name brand), but now with SuSE 10.1. But it doesnīt work as expected.

    > growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/hdg=k3b_image.iso
    Executing 'builtin_dd if=k3b_image.iso of=/dev/hdg obs=32k seek=0'
/dev/hdg: splitting layers at 1540928 blocks
:-[ SEND DVD+R DOUBLE LAYER RECORDING INFORMATION failed with SK=3h/ASC=0Ch/ACQ=00h]: Input/output error

Ok, i tried with the old 10.0 again, no change. I updated to firmware A106, no change. I installed WindowsXP and Nero 7 on the machine, no change.

So, what now? Is the LG drive broken (burning DVD5 still works). Or are the DVD+R DL media i bought broken?
