Your old video card quit, so you replaced it with a different one, and it works, but the fan on it doesn't? The old card doesn't work when put in a different computer, and neither does the fan on that card?

I'm not sure about video card fans, but most computer fans run on 12VDC. But I would think part of that card uses that voltage also. Otherwise, I would say there is a problem with your AGP socket. It doesn't seem likely that there is a problem with the 12VDC rail of the power supply or that the power supply is the problem or the rest of the computer would not function properly.

So far, it just seems like a strange coincidence that both fans quit. Maybe you can unplug the fan power connector on the dead card or remove the fan and see if it will plug into one of your motherboard fan connectors to test it. It may be a 2 pin plug though, and the MB connectors are mostly 3 pin.

Anyway, you need to test those fans by powering them from a different source and see it they are actually dead. If they aren't, then it could still be the power supply, the video cards, or the AGP connector on the MB.

Have your power supply tested for all voltages, especially the 12v.

At the very least, you should always check to see of your power supply is putting out all the voltages that it is supposed to produce.

Sometimes, the lack of just one of those voltages can produce followon problems.

Then, or simultaneously, see if you can replace that fan on your vid card to see if that fan failed.
