I apologize now if i'm in the wrong forum.
I'm trying to burn video files onto a blank DVD and whenever i attempt to burn anything with Nero 7 the audio is choppy. I can play the files just fine with windows media player but nero has a problem. if i preview the video file in nero right before i burn it, it has the choppy audio. It can't be a burner speed error, i don't think at least, because it has the problem in the preview video. Any help would be nice, thank you![]()

Identify your "video files" with Gspot and post a screen shot.
I assume you are converting from one format (some sort of avi) into another by using Nero, yes?
Nero isn't the best tool for that job."Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa -

Is your player Divx compatible?

The files will play just fine. i just get choppy audio when attempting to burn them.

The Audio looks like is 40 kHz. DVD like to have 48 khz and LPCM or AC3 type. For NTSC region it is AC3.

It is? how can you tell? it says FS48000hz in the audio section?

Sorry. I did not see it clear, I missed enlarge icon.
But it say MP3 audio. I do not think that is a format for DVD. -
Wouldn't that be changed when the file is encoded for burning? And is there any way to change that so it could be burned properly?

MysticE has a point.
I assume you are trying to make DVD (Mpeg2 type) even if your file is Xvid (Mpeg4 type). If Nero excepts your video it must be in the format which it can reed so it should be OK. It will not re encode audio file, or if it does it is doing poor job of it.
You my have to do it on your own. Go on other sites on this forum to find tools some are free. For audio I use BeSweet and BeLight GUI for it to convert to AC3. Some say it is not reliable, but it woks for me.
Check also www.Doom9.org. You will find all kind of goodies there.
I just checked NERO site and it claims if you have "NERO7 Enhanced" it will do Mpeg4 to DVD conversion.
On other thought, get your converted file into G-Spot and see what you have there. If it is DVD, it should reed Mpeg2 video and AC3 or LPCM(uncompressed) audio. -
I do not know who is asking now.
But the file from MysticE looks like LPCM audio. There is a window above audio line 0xbd....
it say Codec. That should tell you what kind of audio it is.
Anyway if you check DVD specs it tell you for NTSC it should be AC3 or LPCM.
Nobody is using second one, because it is uncompressed audio (file is too big) and they are looking to get as much bitrate for video as it is possible.
