If it come's out fine ... then why remove noise ? ...

    Filter order :

Null resize ... to enable clipping fuction ... remove garbage from edge's .

    Add

Resize filter ... rescale to suit required output scale .

That remove's rubbish ... just output from there .

    ----------------

Could also be part to do with how you have your setup from vcr to the pc ... as you have not mentioned this .

Rule : Never pass audio via capture device ... it cause's interference to show in video ... alway's directly to line-in on sound device on pc ... video will be clearer .

    Sample shots would help.

Are you certain it isn't just a chroma shift or deinterlace problem (both of which can produce ghost like artifacts)? Oh and can the ghosting be seen just outputing to a TV or is it maybe caused by some combination of your capture run? Ghosting can be cable (or cable environment) related.

Just generally best to fix things before they get recorded into bits and bytes (as best as practible at least).

    virtualdubber,

    Couple of question..

I'm thinking these recordings were from late 80's or else 90's.

** Can you post un-filtered pics please ?
** Also, what VCR brand/model are you using ?
    ** Composite or S-Video connection used ?
** Were these from a prev record to vcr, and what year ?
** last, what was your source, cable or ?

fwiw.. I have the "Video Xpress" box too. But, it doesn't work under win98 gold,
so I have yet to test it out

    Thanks,
