    Hi,

I use Scenalyzer to capture to DV and then convert with Procoder 2.0. Every now and then, Procoder reports the source DV file as 856x480 (the video is 4:3). I don't think Procoder is reading it incorrectly, instead I suspect that the DV file is reporting the wrong size. If I use Scenalyzer to re-write the DV file, then re-open it in Canopus, everything is fine - Procoder reports the file as 720x480 - but it takes a good 5-15 minutes to re-write the file.

Anybody know of a tool that can quickly change flags (if that's what they are called) in a DV file, similar to how DVD Patcher can change the aspect ratio and/or resolution of MPEG-2? I didn't see anything in the Tools section.

    Thanks.

Use Gspot (the latest beta 2.60 version seems stable) to get the file details from the file itself - that may help to isolate where the problem is arising.

As for patching the file details in an AVI, maybe this thread will help:

There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
