  1. I am trying out v1.1 becasue its free. If it does what I want I will upgrade to the registered version IF I can figure out the britsh pounds to U.S. Dollars conversion, but that is another question.

My immediate question is about menus for the vts. I have seen tutorials and guides on how to make the menus using background jpg. and text buttons and graphics for the menu items. BUT in all of those guides the person seems to end without say HOW you make the menu button jump to a certain title, chapter or a submenu. Its like they tell you how to make the pretty pictures but not have to program the functionality.

  2. I am using the latest version of SVCD2DVD, but I "assume" it works pretty much the same. When you load your assets and move them to a VTS, the link is created automatically. This link will be carried over to the menu creation page when you go to make your menu. The link will have a generic name like "Movie One" or something like that. There should also be a place on the first page to change the name of your link to something that relates to your video. So when you go to the menu creation page you will see this link. Move it on your menu wherever you want. When your DVD is compiled and the menu comes up you will see this link or any others you have created. When this link is activated it will take you to the beginning of that particular video and play through to the end. I do not believe there is a way to set up links to go to certain chapters on your video. You can create chapter marks automatically at certain intervals, but you can not set up links to them in SVCD2DVD. For that you need a higher level DVD maker like DVDLab.
Now suppose that you have 4 Divx files from a TV series that you want to put on a DVD. When you open up SVCD2DVD, the first VTS folder is there. Add your first video to that VTS folder. If you right click over that VTS folder you can create another VTS folder. Put your second file in there. Create two more the same way and add your files to those. You can click on each VTS folder and then rename the files to something meaningful. Afterwards, go to the menu creation page. You will probably see one link in the upper left hand corner of the screen. No need to worry, as the other links are underneath that top link. Now move the top link down into the menu and follow suit with the others. Keep the background or add your own. Go back to the page where you entered your videos and then you can create your DVD. When played you will see four links that will take you to the beginning of each of your movies. Hope this helps. By the way, if you are on the fence regarding buying SVCD2DVD....don't worry. Just do it! It is a great program and is supported very nicely by Chrissyboy. There are some things I would like to see added to it, but for now it works just fine!
