It could be several things, but my first suspect is WinAVI, which appears to be an unstable and problematic program from the many users that have reported problems with it here.
Try ConvertXToDVD or the older freeware version DivxToDVD and you will have a lot less problems. You shouldn't need to use Shrink for anything with this type of conversion, just use Nero to burn the authored files from ConvertXToDVD or DivxToDVD.
If you have tried different encoders and authoring methods and you are still having the same problem, then try some different DVD media. That is the most common cause of a DVD not working, more common than the encoding, authoring or burning programs failing.
Does that burned disc play in the computer? Do backed up Shrink movies have the same problem? -
Its a good chance your dvd player doesn't like that type of dvd brand like redwudz suggested. If it plays on your computer than you made it right your settop dvd player just doesn't like the recordable dvd brand you used.
Try a different brand and see how it goes.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
