hi iv had this recorder 4/5 months recorded well over 100 discs with it all diffrent kind of discs cheep ones maxell ones(great) tesco cheep and other cheep discs and some tdk all in all its a hit and miss with the recorder reading the discs iv put lots in the bin over the months i have had the recorder the problems now are i start recording a video to dvd the video is old off air recordings(and tapes well looked after) after about 10 minutes the recording stops then dvd sticks iv to pull the plug to get it back to working normal!! problem 2 i record video onto disc its all there i can play it back(sometimes) then when i try to finalize it it says no disc!!!!!! now i put the recorder on last week it recorded a hour long tape no problems and now iv started recording from an other dvd player to my dvd recorder no problems but why have i got issues with this player some times it works some times it dont now i am happy with the picture of the dvds i make just like my original tapes even look better some what!!!1are all dvd recorders like this? hit or a miss in recording i am about off my head the bush help line was no good the woman asked if i had the dvd in the right way up at that point i said look good bye![]()
help me ps the maxell dvd+rs and maxell dvd+rw work really great most of the time tdk though not work that good says no disc after recording but saying that iv recorded about 20 discs with tdk![]()

Could you please try using something other than !!! for puctuation, and perhaps consider the concept of paragraphs. I have had to read this 3 times to start to make sense of most of it.
From what I can make out, you bought a cheap DVDR/Video combo unit 4 - 5 months ago. You have burned over 100 discs, of varying brands, from cheap to really, really cheap, with the occassional not completely crap discs. Through all of this the results have been, at best, hit and miss, with a lot of coasters going out to the curb.
Now you are trying to use it to transfer some old VHS tapes recoreded off the telly onto DVD, however you are having very mixed results.
I have two words for you.
The first is warranty. The device is obviously faulty, so if you have any warranty left, use it. Get it fixed or get it replaced.
The second word is Crap. It's a low end unit. You have done it no favours by using crap media. It appears to never have worked very well, certainly not up to what I would call being 'fit for purpose' or 'of merchantable quality'.
In fact, I'll throw in a third word for free
