Video Captures in Black and White

Hi

When capturing material of the tv to pc, i for some reason get a black and white only picture.

Im in the U.S, and have an analog television system(NTSC). My setup consists of tv, vcr/dvd, cable box

They are connected in order:
There is a cable wire that comes out of the floor, its connected to the vcr/dvd, from there the vcr/dvd is connected to the cable box and the cable box connects to the tv.

When i connect the tv tuner i connect the cable cord in place of the cord that is connected to the vcr/dvd. The cable cord that i use is black and came from a satelite dish installer.

Through out the connection, there are no composite connections, some s-composite connections but only for dvd/vrc for sound and picture. These cords connect to vcr/dvd - tv.

Which cable connects all this spagetti to the PC ? I would guess that you have used an s--video/RCA cable (the type that comes with a graphics card) to a composite output, which is why you have no colour.

I am not sure but I think you may have to go to the cable box first .. then from there to the VCR/DVD and then to the TV..

no composite or s-video cables are involved in connecting the tv to pc. the cable fits the cable box and the pc card. i got this cable from a tv-dish installer. maybe this says something.

i tried connecting the ground cable directly to the card, that didnt work
i tried connecting the cable, pc-to-cable box, that didnt work.
i tried connecting the wire from the dish intstaller with a splitter to the cable box, and that didnt work as well.

its either the card, settings or the cable that i got from the dish installer
