  1. Hi, whenever I want to encode a MOV video to AVI with Rad Video Tools and select XviD as codec, then it refuses to encode. The "Conversion info" window just closes. Encoding with for example Div3LM or DivX5 works fine, but I rather use XviD.

I also tried River Past Video Cleaner, but it gives me the message that my XviD codec settings are not valid. It refuses to encode no matter what XviD settings I use.
    Re-installing XviD doesn't help either.

    I'm using XviD 1.1.0.

    This is de video information.
    Code:
    Video:
    Codec : Sorenson 3
Info : Sorenson Media Video 3 (Apple QuickTime 5)
    Bit rate : 1821 Kbps
    Width : 600
    Height : 299
    Aspect ratio : 2.2
    Frame rate : 24.001 fps
    Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.423
    PlayTime : 12mn 26s

    Audio:
    Codec : ADPCM
    Bit rate : 88 Kbps
    PlayTime : 12mn 20s
    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

They aren't valid. Xvid must have a resolution that is a multiple of four I believe (at the very least an even number). 299 is not a valid resolution.

  3. Xvid frame size must be a multiple of 2. It used to be 4.

Thanks - 299 still isn't a multiple of 2 according to my old fashioned maths though.

  5. Thanks a lot for the help.

I'll stick to Div3LM then. In order to change the frame size to 600x300 I would have to re-encode it and then encode it with XviD, which results in a lower quality video.

DivX3 shouldn't be able to do odd pixels either since it uses YV12, same as XviD. Odd pixels would require RGB. Well I guess it could pad internally.

    Is your DivX3 re-encode actually 600x299?
