    Hi

    I have a UK spec 520HX (multi-region).

    The DVD-RW drive seems to have failed.

    Whenever I load a disc it has trouble loading it and eventually says "incompatible or unreadable disc" (The discs all play and record fine on my 5100).

    Is it possible to swap the drive with a standard A06/7/8/9 or do the the DVR drives have special firmware?

    First, have you tried a laser-cleaning disc?
