  1. I noticed recently that "blankmedia.ca", will now take Money Orders as a payment method. So I checked out their website and tracked down some affordable Tayo Yuden blank DVD-R's. I read something here recently about "dvd drive compatability" with media. How do I find out if my DVD Burner is compatable with Tayo Yuden Media?

My DVD Burner is a NEC-DVD-RW ND-3500AB 2.16 I have never attempted to put any new firmware on my computer, because I don't know how, and I am scared I would somehow screw things up.

Here is a link to what media I am thinking of getting:

    http://blankmedia.ca/proddetail3.asp?id=955

The media comes in a 100 pack, and I was wondering does the weight of those disks squash or damage the ones near the bottom of the pack?

Right now I am using Ritek Blank DVD-R's and have had success so far. I can get them locally, and this will be a new experience dealing with "blankmedia.ca".

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me on this matter. I am hoping my burner will work with the Tayo Yuden Media. I have read it is a better brand than Ritek. Money is tight right now, so I am hoping this all works out. I am hoping I am heading in the right direction getting Tayo Yuden Ink Jet Printable Media. Did I pick a good type of Tayo Yuden blank DVD-R's. I figure after the shipping and handling, taxes and the cost of the money order, it should work out to be 64 cents per blank DVD-R. Once again thank you for any advice you can give me on this matter.

They usually ship the 100 packs on their sides. Hopefully they will be well packaged and wrapped. It makes a real mess of the discs if the tape breaks and they rattle around in the box. If those discs are what they say they are, (I don't know that company's reputation) they should work fine. TY is probably one of the more compatible brands. You can check both the media and the writer for compatibility to the left. <<<<<< Those are often opinions, not always facts, but still useful.
