  1. I have a movie file on my computer that I want to burn to DVD and play on my home DVD player. The movie file is not broken down so Nero will only let me burn it as a UDF file and the burned disc will not play on the DVD player.

Can anyone help me on how I can either split the file to TS folders and then burn it as a DVD video disc that will play on ther home DVD player or use different software to burn it.

    Many thanks

    a movie file? avi, mpg, mov, wmv ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??

if a dvd mpg file then use an authoring tool like nerovision, tda.

if something else convert to dvd with convertxtodvd, divxtodvd or nerovision.

Well, no offense my friend but you seem to not have a clue as to how the process works.
I think it is time to start reading some of the the guides found to your left.

    Basically:

You seem to have a "movie" from wherever

This needs to be turned into an MPG2 with any of the encoders available that can encode to MPG2

Once you have a waorking MPG2 file and it plays perfectly, you need to author it to a DVD. Authoring tools as with encoders are a plenty. Some free and some for $$. Again, you need to read and read some more.

Now since you are working with nero, from waht I can gather, you just burned your file to a DATA DVD which OF COURSE, will not play in your stand alone player.

If your file is an AVI ( Divx / Xvid ) try Divx2DVD I think it's called and that will probably work for you. It will take your AVI and donvert it to a direct play DVD with No Menus.

The results will look as shitty or as good as your original. GIGA!! But it will produce a working
DVD which ought to play fine on your player.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

You need Nero Vision, not regular Nero! Regular Nero won't help you!
