I use TMPGEnc DVD Author for my TV series. The only drawback is perfect edits aren't always possible since it only edits on I frames.

What is your source?
Do you have the TV series on commercial DVD already and you want to back it up?
Or do you have downloaded AVIs or MPGs that you want to make a DVD from? There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

1. Work out how long each episode is
2. Clear copyright with owners of original works so you can legally use their films for this project
3. Use a bitrate calculator ro work out how many episodes you can comfortably fit on a disc, and at what bitrate
4. Encode the episodes using a good encoder and the bitrate calculated in step 2. Examples of good encoders include Tmpgenc, CCE Basic, HCEnc and ProCoder Express. Examples of bad encoders include anything with WinAVI in the title.
5. Design menu layouts in still imaging program such as photoshop
6. Author menus and episodes into a DVD using an authoring program with advanced features such as title playlists
7. Test from HDD then burn to DVD disc and play
If this is too complicated and time consuming, there is an easier solution. Buy the discs instead. If they aren't out yet, they soon will be (e.g. Seinfeld)Read my blog here.

im looking for a program that does it for mkvs and ogms
and some avis -
For once and for all - there is no one-click program that does this. ConvertXtoDVD will encode multiple episodes to a single disc. It will no give you a play all function. If you want advanced functions, you need to use advanced tools. The steps I outlined (above) are the steps to do this properly.
As for formats such as mkv and ogm - you have to extract the import parts first for most tools to be able to read them.Read my blog here.

I don't know if it's any good or not. It just came out. It uses a good freeware encoder though, along with AviSynth. Don't blame me if it doesn't work out for you. If, on the other hand, you like it a lot, then I'll happily take the credit for pointing it out to you. -
ok thank u gunsl1nger i will try these steps u put out for me thnx = D
