CD images...are almost ALWAYS uncompressed. Why would you need it compressed?

About the only one I can think of is PowerISO that can create compressed DAA images - mount them with the included CD emulator (like Daemon Tools) and there you go...

I plan to rip every single cd I own to the harddrives (those are anything from application cds, to games, training cds etc...).

I would be wasting space creating regular ISO images, and If I rar them, I have to decompress them before I use them, which would suck.

I'm looking for any solution that would allow me to create compresses cd images.

    Thanks in advance.

Another option is to create "normal" ISO files, and tell Windows (2000 or XP) to compress the folder they're stored in. The real-time uncompression is done transparently in the OS.
