    I took the plunge and decided to buy the MainConcept h.264 Encoder, the problem is that I dont knwo how im supposed to play back the files i encode with it, I have tried Classic Media Player, Nero Showtime, and winamp, i was wondering if someone new how i could playthese back with links to the player and the codec needed for them to playback the fiie i encode.

    Try installing this QuickTime Alternative. You can play mpeg 4 files off your
    Windows Media Player,or off Media Player Classic.

  4. Or the latest version of Quicktime itself.
    (Although if you had a Pro version of the last release, you will have to pay for a new version of pro if you upgrade.)

    MainConcept doesn't output mp4's though does it? Thought it used TS? Either way it should have included a parser. Probably MPC's internal TS parser should work to. I haven't any AVC encodes other than mp4 and mkv to test though.

    Did you try this from a comment on the Tools page?

    Good speed and quality. But i found it tricky to decode.
    I used Media player classic: disable its internal mpeg filters
    and added MainConcept's mpeg splitter, h264 video decoder, aac audio decoder in filters->override.
