    I'v got a jvc mh20s dvd recorder to record from my tv, but when i put the dvd in my pc it doesn't see anything on the disc. I record in video mode and run win xp. Do i need some software for my pc or is it something else? The dvd-rom drive in my compaq pc records to dvd+r & +rw but i assumed it would play dvd-r, -is this wrong?

    Did you finalize the disc in your jvc mh20s dvd recorder? You have to finalize the disc in the jvc recorder then load it into your pc dvdrom.

    Just fyi you don't have to finalize a +rw disc if yours works like my liteon dvd recorder. But you will have to finalize a - or + r one time write.

    actually i'v been using -rw discs but the manual says they need to be finalized aswell.
