    Anyone know the media code of HP cd-r 52x.

    Circuit City has this on sale 50 @ $6.99 this week and am thinking about getting enough to get free shipping.

    I think all HP media is made by CMC Magnetics.

    Might be Philips also. But either way, HP media ain't what it used to be. I still have a few 12x HP CD-R that are TY discs which is what most of them were back then, but certainly not any more.

    OfficeMax has Verbatim 50-pack for $1 more this week.

    Wasn't a Circuit City but I saw some HP today that were Made In China.

    Would these MIC still be CMC?

    I try to avoid CMC when I can but so far I've not had any problems with the CMC CD-R i've used.

    CMC DVD is a different story.
