    hello everyone,

bought myself a sony handycam. Filmed a lot already so i've got a lot of .vob files on my pc. I want to convert them using BBmpeg (avi2mpg2). Here's the problem: when I add my .vob file, instead of beeing 2 minutes and 13 seconds long, it appears as 14 seconds long. when I encode it works perfect, i then go to the converted file and indeed it is only 14 seconds long, but it plays the entire file, really quickly, not just the first 14 seconds or so so it compressed the entire file into 14 seconds.

Can you guys please help me resolve this problem ?
    thanks in advance,

    Frank

    welcome!

Just vob files are NOT meant for playing or converting. They should just be used together with ifo files for dvd playback.

It could also be some problem with your dvd/mpeg2 decoder that cause problems.

But why convert? the vob are already in mpeg2 format, use vob2mpg to get them in a mpg container instead of the vob. You can then try reconvert the mpg with bbmpeg.
