Am toying around with buying a Nero 7 from ebay, although I cannot figure out wether most of them are the original thats been used and being sold off, or multiple copies of the original, or whatever. The question is, does anyone know what is "full" version, "ultra", or "premium" ?

  2. If it doesn't say "Ultra" or "Premium" then it's OEM.As for eBay I don't trust it and would only buy from a known retailer:

Looks like there is only one version for 7, Ultra, at least from Nero and its normal outlets. I don't know for sure what is included in the OEM.

And you should definetly stick with known retailer. Prices are pretty consistent. If it's really cheap, it is most likely OEM or fake. OEM versions are often locked to a specific make/model of drive.

Personally, I'm still using Nero 6. It does everything that I need it to do. There are still (even after numerous patches) many complaints about Nero 7.

I believe the two versions are exactly the same. One was for the North American market and the other was for the European market. It appears they have dropped the premium name and now sell only ultra.

Very interesting, thanks. Moviegeeks' link includes a discussion about a forthcoming Nero 7 OEM version called 'Essentials'. It already appears amoungst the listings on ebay, but none of them mention that its an OEM. Clever sods.

    ^^ What he said.

I've tried Nero 7, uninstalled it, and went back to Nero 6 OEM. I was getting errors and weird bugs with Nero 7, error messages as well. I am very happy with Nero 6 OEM, does everything I want it to do.

The only reason I wanted to move on from Nero 6 OEM is that it seems to screw up my RW's (cd and dvd) when formating and they become unusable. At least I assume its the OEM's fault.
