I see the terms "Mirror" and "Mirror site" in many of the tools listed here. What does this mean? I couldn't find it in the glossary.

A mirror site is an alternative download site. Sometimes a tool will be hosted by the uathor, and by Download.com, for example. In this case, download.com would be the mirror site. Think of it as a backup. It also helps spread the bandwidth load and reduce costs to the author if their software is popular.
