Hi all, I wondered if there's any way to create thumbnails for quicktime movies. Also, is it possible to open avi and windows media player files in Quicktime movie player, and if so how? Thanks in advance for any help.

By thumbnails, I assume you mean the ones that Windows creates on its own. I believe it will only create thumbnails for formats that can be played with WMP.

Quicktime only plays files that it natively supports, so there is no way to associate avi or wmv files to it.

Your best bet, would be to switch to another player such as MPC which does support all formats.

Thanks for the reply Krispy. Yes, I mean the thumbnails Windows creates so you can see which movie is which without opening them. I guess you can't do that with Quicktime then.

I'll give MPC a go, thanks for the tip, but I like Quicktime because it's so easy to edit and combine movies and I found no other program that can do that.
