  1. I just got a this player and am a bit bummed out by the playback quality of VCD's. My Apex 660a does a much better job.
I do video installations and want to be able to bring and use video in an easier format than VHS so I got this.

    Here is me question:

Does anyone know is there is a better way to burn VCDs so this player will play a bit more smooth?
I remember someone saying something about a slightly different bitrate, but I don't know what it is or where that change would be made.
Would that be in the burning process or in the encodig process?

Thanks... anyone else have this player?

  2. yeah. I got one. But I'm afraid I cant help you. When you say you want it smoother, do you mean that the picturemotion is somewhat uneven. 'Cause thats my problem too. I've tried some diffrent bitrates but I cant get it to work. The best "smoothnes" I've got is with Nero's own encoder. But then the sound out of sync. But is the smoothness the only problem you have ? what software do you use ?

  3. The napa is problmatic, best way is to lower the bitrate to about 1120 and remove all the black borders. This is done at the encoding step

  4. I haven't tested this yet, but it's fun too see that other people care. Atleast these settings work best on his napa.
