Hi,
I've got a lecture conversation in another language in .asf and would like to make my own english soft subs for it so other can understand.
What software do most use for these kind of task? If there's a tutorial that would be great as well.
Thanks.

There's plenty of tools, and plenty of guides. Search using the links to the left, and search in the forums - that's what they're all there for...
Do lots of reading, then come back with questions when you're having difficulty with a particular approach or tool. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

Subtitle workshop did the trick, how does one make subtitles for real media video files? Do one have to convert to another format .avi or something sub it, then retime for the .rm file?
