  1. I have version 2.5.1.1259 of DVDx, dated May 5, 2006. It's the standard version, not ultra. I have a question about features, and I've also encountered several bugs. I previously had DVDx version 2.3 which worked very well for me, and I don't think I ever encountered a bug in that. So I'm somewhat familiar with the software from using the earlier version. Here are my questions:

    1. What features does the ultra version have that the standard one does not? I tried reading the description on the web site, but I'm not sure I understood what it was saying.

    2. Is there a bug fix release planned soon that will repair the bugs I've described below? Any estimate on how soon?

    3. If there's not a bug fix release planned soon, how can I get an earlier, more stable version?

    4. Is there another application other than DVDx that is more reliable when it comes to capturing portions of mpeg files from DVD and saving them as AVI?

Here are the bugs I've seen. All of these refer to what happens after I "open MPEG" and I'm trying to identify which segment of the file I want to capture:

    * When I initially open the file, the pointer that shows how far I am into the newly-opened MPEG is all the way to the end of the file. In version 2.3 it opened with this pointer all the way at the beginning.

    * If I position the pointer where I want it somewhere in the file, the display in the lower right-hand corner of the screen shows an enormous number that appears to have nothing at all to do with the contents of the mpeg or the position of the pointer. In version 2.3, it showed how far into the mpeg I was.

    * If I position the pointer where I want it somewhere in the file, then open the "output" screen to tweak the settings (usually to indicate how many frames I'll want to copy), when I return to the main display I see that the pointer has leaped all the way to the very end of the file and I have to start all over again repositioning it where I want it. In version 2.3, the pointer stayed where I left it, even after I made changes to the output settings.

    * Immediately after I open an mpeg file and OK out of the "Input Settings" screen, it gives me this error message: "Sample not found or audio decoding error. It happens sometimes at beginning or end of movie. Select continue will fill audio buffer with blank. Continue?" I know that the mpeg in question has content. If I hit "yes" to continue, then click on the "play" button within DVDx, it plays the contents of the mpeg file complete with the proper audio. But if I save a portion of the captured mpeg, it doesn't have the audio. Why can DVDx play the audio within it, but not save the audio when it extracts frames?
