    I used dafreak's converting method thing to convert my OGM videos (anime <3) to DVD form thingers. [ https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=222005 ]

    The CD I'm using is DVD-R, 16x, 4.7GB

    I tried many programs, but all of them ended up as a failure. They all said something along the lines of, "Insert recordable disk", "failed", "error, gonna close down now", etc.

    I tried using Nero, DVD-lab PRO, Super DVD Creator, TMPGEnc, TMPGEnc Author version, etc.

    But none worked. My computer is... :

    Windows XP
    Dimension 4600 Dell
    In the CD place (err... you press a little button and the CD tray comes out), it says 'Memorex'

    I also tried searching (Yay for the search bar) to see if anyone else had such a problem, but it seemed that no one had.

    Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

    (Note: As for the process, I followed dafreak's guide. Except, I skipped the subtitle part because the anime I downloaded, it came separately. Yay.)

    Help me, please. ^-^;;

    A DVD burner? Umm... well, I have nothing more than a couple programs and videos. o_o;

    Sorry, not really sure what you mean. I'm a complete noob when it comes to computers.

    If it's a program, I have Nero, DVD-lab PRO, Super DVD Creator, TMPGEnc, TMPGEnc Author version.

    hech54 is asking if you have a DVD BURNER in your computer. If you don't know what a DVD BURNER is then I suggest you use google to do a search for what is a DVD BURNER.

    If you don't have a DVD BURNER then you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO burn your MEMOREX DVD-R disc. Check your specs on your DELL PC to see if it came with a DVD BURNER.

    Even if you do have a DVD burner you probably won't be able to burn a DVD-R because Dell usually includes DVD+R ONLY burners in their comps. You'll need +R media, but you might have problems playing what you burn on standalone DVD players if you use that.

    To find out what you have on Windows XP, click Start->Control Panel->Performance and Maintenance->System->Hardware (Tab along the top)->Device Manager (button) and click the plus-sign nest to DVD/CD Drives and post what you've got here.

    Looks like he only has a CDROM & CDRW/DVDROM COMBO drive.
    Which means he has no DVD BURNER to burn a DVD-R disc.

    I believe that's just a CD burner, and not a DVD burner.

    You're SOL.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    I suggest taking out the Samsung so you'll keep your DVD reader. Go and buy a Benq DW1650/1655 or Pioneer 111D from chiefvalue.com or mwave.com. Chiefvalue has the Benq DW1655 for $40 and it includes a copy of Nero 6. I'd jump on that while it lasts.
