If i made some video shoots which has alot of camera shakes, from little nudges to great convulsions. how would i get around these camera shakes. Is there any plugin that can help reduce the camera shakes? Can I zoom in on a video and crop the edges to make the camera shakes less evident?

how can i get rid of or reduce these camera shakes?

You get around them with a tripod or a lot of practice holding the camera steady. Avoid zoom shots, make smooth pans.

If you already have the 'shakes', there is a VirtualDub filter than may help clean them up: http://www.guthspot.se/video/deshaker.htm

I'm assuming DV, which VD can handle with the addition of a DV codec. I use the Panasonic DV Codec.

keep in mind that deshaker takes absolutely forever and will leave you with funky looking edges which will have to be cropped...then you will have to stretch out the image to compensate..degrading the quality of your video. Your best bet is to use a tripod and make steady shots to begin with.

I can't suggest anything for your existing footage, but for future filming, you can build your own stabilizer

    Just a note here:
Combustion has a feature to "fix" camera shakes...

I find the deshaker for Vdub excellent. It uses a simple stacking method from the center out which will, like mentioned, make the edges move. This, however, is not seen on the overscan. A tripod, of course, is the best solution.

    ha ha!
actually, I was going to build my own steadicam about a year ago and appreciate that link

  13. Deshaker can be set to fill black areas at the edges with stuff from previous or future frames. It's a great tool.

I have a Sony camcorder which has a steadyshot function. Very effective in reducing shake with no loss of image quality (unlike some other systems). Though you can't beat a tripod or a beanbag.

An alternative to that home made steadycam is just to buy a collapsible monopod and use it partially extended.

Gotta link to fill the edges with previous frames?

Sounds like that's the way to go
