Can't speak to the r220, but I have the R300, and if I scan an image from a DVD, and print that image onto a blank in my R300, you would be hard pressed to tell the original from the copy, with the exception the the whisp of white at the very edge of the disk.

You can even get rid of the "whisp of white" if you change the OD printing area. If you are getting a very small white outer edge, try making the printing area 1mm. bigger. The same applies to the inner printing area.

Been using the R200 for about a year now, thousands of discs. Mostly it depends on the brand of DVD you use, but they all look very good. The printable surface on the Ritek discs are excellent and will give you results that are nearly photo perfect, but a few people believe that you can get a better quality DVD from Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim (or Maxell, even). My luck has been great with all four brands, but I do put the extra special stuff on TY or Verbatim to be safe. The surface on the TY and Verbatim don't have as much contrast or saturation as the Ritek, but still look pretty good. Maxell has the worst surface and if you get the Taiwan made Maxells, they are crappy DVDs, too.

I have an Epson R200 and have tried just about all the discs out their. PRODISC-R hub printable are the best I have seen. The discs are made by Fuji, if you want DL use Verbatim+R or Fuji+R. The settings in the print section is easy

  7. Here is a sample of the taiyo yuden and primera aquaguard bright white dvd.

The Dark Water dvd is a Taiyo Yuden hub printable
The Aeon Flux is the Primera with aquagurd.

Its hard to tell onscreen but with them in front of you the Primera give great results. As you should bee able to see the Taiyo yuden looks good.

I am using an Epson R200 but i use the microweave option which make the quality higher. Look at this thread
    https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=302469

I will be switching from my Primera Matte finish to the Primera(Taiyo Yuden media) Glossy finish when they come out in August(yes i know they cost more but i dont mind paying a little more because they look great)
