How is everyone? And thanks for your help in advance if there is any help to give....
I was asked why my DVD-R's would not play on a reletives player...Well the player only
    plays DVD, CD and Video-CD. Its a Samsung Model# DVD-909. I tried a DVD+/-RW and
still no go....is there a checksum or a marker I could add to trick it into seeing a pressed disk?

I hope to hear from you....

It's not raw...encoded from dv to dvd on ffmpeg. Mpeg-2 video/AC3 audio----
    Video_TS and Audio_TS folders.

changing the book type to ROM this only works with + r/RW DVDs though... thats the only way to make the player think its a "pressed" or store bought.. but its not fool proof

Bitsetting can fool a player that won't play +R by design into trying to play it, however it may still be unable to actually read the disc.

  7. According to the comments on your player it will play DVD+R and DVD-R but does not like DVD-RW or DVD+RW. If all you've tried is RW then that's probably the problem right there.
