What freewares are there that will easily split video files that are too large to fit on a regular 4.7 DVD blank please?

Just to clarify. I ripped a 240 minute DVD using Shrink but the file is too large to burn on a regular 4.7 blank, what are my best options here? I figure I will have to split the file but the only good file splitters I am aware of are "mpeg" file splitters, what would be my easiest way to burn this file?

MPEG2Cut or MPG2Cut2, or if you need a fully functional MPEG editor that will do more than just cut, Cuttermaran.

EDIT: I didn't see your second post before posting myself. What steveryan linked to would be better if you are are already in DVD format.

I had tried cutteraman a while back but for some reason the software just would not work and I could not get support so I gave up on it. At that time I was using mpeg files bbecuase I was using captured files which was why I had looked into mpeg-splitters but now I have to look into splitting DVD files since I am now ripping as opposed to capturing so I will have a look at the link given above, thanks guys.

Tried out the tutorial in the link given above to split the files in Shrink and this works but there is one area I would like to improve on concerning "where" in the video to split the file? If I have to split a movie in 2, I would like to fill the first disc to the max and put the remainder on the the 2nd disc but seeing that I have to use chapters in the start and end frames I don't know how to do this, how do you guys split files? Do you split in half or do you fill the first disc? If the latter, how please? Thanks.
