I'm trying to find the proram to zoom in. I'm using my 37" Sharp LCD as my monitor. I'm also using an HDMI cable to connect my computer to my TV. For some reason I can't use the zoom feature on my tv to work when I use it as a monitor. There was a program that I found awhile back that had a zoom feature, but I forgot what it was called. The problem is, in monitor mode, the edge of the screen are cut off like pan-scan. about half an inch is cut off all the way around. Could someone tell me of a program that is free and that could zoom in and out?

Have you tried checking your video settings? Depending on your video card and drivers, you can adjust the size and placement of the desktop on the screen (just like the video setup controls on a computer monitor).

MediaPlayer Classic. Use the 10-key controls on your keyboard to zoom in & out.
9 = Zoom in
1 = Zoom out
5 = Reset

Are you looking to zoom a player or see the full desktop? The TV manufacturer expectation is you will live with overscanning on a video playback, same as with a normal TV.
Most HDTV sets overscan at least 5% for the same reasons they do on standard TV sets: to stop people from complaining about the garbage and black edges around the video. These are known to cause service returns. Usually they don't overscan VGA inputs intended for computer display.
Never assume anything about computer connections to HDTV sets. Check it out before you buy.
If the TV doesn't support zero overscan, then the zoom burden falls to the display card. Most Display cards offer H and V size/position controls on YPbPr outputs.
