  1. Model #: MA205LL. It has a firewire port, thus, it's video-capture ready?

    All Macs since like the debut of iMovie ship video capture ready -- via a FireWire device (a video camera, an analog to digital converter [ie Canopus]).

    So the answer is yes.

    If you want to capture MPEG2 video (like from an ADS USB Instant DVD), you should have a hard drive with at least 7200 rpm or you will drop frames from time to time.

    7200 rpm? This one, and the 206 model, has 5400. And if this is for MPEG-2 capping only, it isn't a concern for me, but good to know.
