  1. All right here it goes again. Yet again i am having problems with the movies i encode and send though svcd2dvd. In my dvd player the movies just stop at the first chapter and never go past. Skip alot or just plain not even play i know it isnt a burning problem because regular dvds i do work but if i am encoding a avi with svcd2dvd to make a movie it doent work afterwards. and if i encode it with tmpgenc as a vcd and then send the mpeg through svcd2dvd it still doesnt work. This time i do have a log so if you see any problems help would be apriciated.

Post a log from an AVI run and we'll have a look at that too.

You might also want to edit your source file names.

  3. i know it isnt a burning problem because regular dvds i do work
How are you making these 'regular dvds'? I ask because it could also be a media compatibility problem with either the burner or player.

  4. well i kind of fixed the mpeg problem by using tmpgenc and encoding it with vcd setting. it seem that it was set to encode the files as a mpeg1 and somehow tha had something to do with it. I encoded it as a vcd and all the chapters worked and there was no skipping. I will do the avi log soon . thanks

i once had a problem with freezing / stopping when vreating dvd's
eveything worked fine if it was an svcd but once written as a dvd all my
troubles started again................i was burning my dvd's at x4 speed and they all would stuff up at some stage ie..skip, freeze, stop

i went thru alot of dvd's to find the problem untill...........

I began burning them at x2.4 - never looked back. never had a prob since, in any player or with any kind of media.
