    Recently installed xp with my aiw and boom the macrovision patch works at least with VHS,Question is I have ripped a couple of DVDs and had problems with audio tracks,any reason I cant just capture the DVD?

    it is much better to trouble shoot ur ripping problems.

    When you rip, the information does not degrade. It is a perfect copy.

    When you capture the DVD is decoded, converted to analog signals, sent via cable where it can degrade, then is converted back to digital, where it degrades more.
