Trying to do a few things with scanned text documents that aren't appearing "clear" when I try to use them as a background image/slides within a slideshow. Basically I try scanning a mixed text graphics image on my scanner (tried several resolutions) and when I import it into either Nero or Adobe Elements Slideshow the image gets very pixelated/blurry in fullscreen. Tried doing the same thing as an exported PDF to JPEG conversion in Word and I get the same reuslts. Any way to improve the image in either Photoshop or something else?

How high a resolution are you scanning your text and graphics?

You weren't trying to fit all three columns of text on the screen where you? TV simply isn't clear enough for that. Two columns will be readable on a decent TV.
2 columns will be readable but marginal (padded for overscan):
I was able to read this on my 32" TV but not on my 13" TV.
1 column will be better (I didn't pad this one for overscan but I think you get the idea):
This is easily readable on even my 13" TV.
I was barely able to read the document when all three columns (not padded for overscan) were on my 32" TV. But it was difficult and I couldn't really make out words that I didn't know.
Scanning your source in grayscale rather than B/W might help a bit too.
